St Dunstan’s College has once again demonstrated its strong commitment to community support with its involvement in Hospice East Rand’s “Bring-A-Thing” fundraiser this Mandela Day. Known for their ethos of giving back, the college played a pivotal role in gathering second-hand items for Hospice East Rand’s nine charity shops. These contributions significantly aid community members with life-threatening illnesses who lack medical aid.
The event was both meaningful and joyful, featuring performances from the school’s marimba band, which added a festive atmosphere to the occasion. Generous donations poured in from students, staff, and parents, illustrating the collective spirit of the school community.
Jonquil Siepman, from Hospice East Rand, expressed deep appreciation for the school’s enduring partnership, noting that the enthusiastic and heartfelt support from St Dunstan’s College not only enhances their operations but also brings warmth and encouragement to their efforts.
This ongoing collaboration highlights the importance of community engagement and the powerful impact it can have. As we look forward to future initiatives, St Dunstan’s College continues to set a remarkable example of how community and compassion go hand in hand.
