Hospice East Rand is excited to share that the grade one pupils from Hurlyvale Primary School took to their cupboards last week in support of our Bring-A-Thing fundraiser for Mandela Day.
Our fundraiser asks supporters to look within their homes for items that are no longer needed and can be donated to us for resale in one of our nine charity shops. Money generated from the sale of these goods goes directly into our organization to help patients diagnosed with a life-limiting illness especially those who are not in a position to pay for care.
“Without the support from our local community we would not be able to support these patients,” say Jonquil Siepman, marketing and liaison for Hospice East Rand. “These little Hurlyvale treasures and their families were so generous in their donations and watching the smiles on their faces when asked whether they understood what superheroes they are was just pricelist.”
“We are immensely grateful for their support this year and their commitment to supporting our cause annually for Mandela Day,” confirms Siepman.
