St Dunstan’s Give Back

“St Dunstan’s College define themselves as a community united that always gives back. Never is this more evident than in the support the school provides Hospice East Rand on an ongoing basis”, says Jonquil Siepman, marketing and media liaison for Hospice East Rand. “Our relationship stems back many years and every new year their willingness to support us is overwhelming.”

For Mandela Day this year they supported Hospice East Rand’s Bring-A-Thing fundraiser. The fundraiser aims to generate second hand household items that can be resold in one of our nine charity shops situations around the East Rand. Money made from items sold goes directly into our organisation to support community members with life-limiting illnesses and especially those not fortunate enough to have a medical aid.

The morning was filled with coffee, music from their marimba band and generosity through the many items donated by staff, parents and students. “As our chairman Con Roux expressed, it is heart-warming to see the joy they express in the manner of their giving.”
